Loot Rules Summary
This is a brief overview of how attendance and DKP works, designed for a new recruit to quickly grasp the basics of the system.
- Attendance is earned every raid, and overall attendance is shown as a percentage from 0 to 100. We use a rolling attendance system, meaning that only the last 4 weeks (i.e. 16 raids) are remembered.
- There are 3 attendance brackets: 0-50, 50-75, 75-100. These influence priority on items as described below.
- When an item drops, everyone interested sends the master looter a tell with a bid. There are 3 possible bids: MAX, REGULAR, and MIN. The actual values depend on the tier: In Naxx they were 30/20/10, in Ulduar 60/40/20, in Coliseum 120/80/40, and in Icecrown 240/160/80.
- The master looter announces the current high bid(s). Bidding continues until nobody else wants to go higher. Note that you can bid more than once, so the idea is to start low and go higher as desired, like in a real auction.
- Once bidding finishes, the person who bids highest gets the item and loses DKP equal to their bid. This DKP gets evenly distributed between all the other members in the raid (i.e. Zero-Sum).
- In case of a tie, the person in the higher attendance BRACKET has priority. If those tied are all in the same bracket, then the person with the most current DKP is the winner.
- You CAN go negative. However, going into deep negatives is discouraged.
- Those in the lowest bracket with the rank of TRIAL cannot bid MAX. Once the person is promoted to raider or leaves the lowest bracket this restriction is lifted.
