Gear and Ability Requirements (Updated 6/14/10 for Icecrown)
At the moment there are no specific numbers, but here are some general guidelines. As far as gear goes, iLevel 232 gear is the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM since it is so easy to obtain, ideally new trials have a mix of 251 and 264 gear.
GENERAL: All gear properly gemmed and enchanted. It is the FIRST thing we look at, and those without proper gems and enchants tend to get rejected immediately. There should be no excuse for this, it takes literally 5 minutes to research what is correct for your class/spec.
GENERAL: Ability to act competently in various boss encounters. This includes things like performing your role, not standing in fire (or whatever gimmick the fight has), etc.
TANKS: Defense capped (or otherwise crit immune), 40k+ health (unbuffed). You must have the ability to tank both single bosses, and perform multi-target tanking. Must be able to adapt quickly to changing situations without being told to.
HEALERS: Must be able to perform both single-target and multi-target healing, both alone and with others.
DPS: Must be able to perform competitively on dps meters, since this is primarily what we look at.
DPS classes will be evaluated primarily using WWS and other damage meters. Tanks and healers will be tested by giving them specific and often difficult assignments in an encounter, preferably without the support of others (for instance, solo healing an offtank).
